Fourth Annual Workshop — May - June, 31-4, 2015 -  Malinalco, México

The fourth Annual Animal EcoPhysiology Workshop took place in Malinalco, Mexico. Similar to the previous workshop, participants included approximately 50 faculty and students from the University of North Texas, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Mexico, and McNeese State University

Workshop activities included:

  • Aproximately thirty-five EcoPhysiology related topics were presented as oral papers and poster presentations
  • Participants had the opportunity to visit the Cuauhtinchan Archeological Zone
  • Further strengthing of research collaborations

Third Annual Workshop — May 19-23, 2011 -  Denton, Texas, USA

After enjoying the first two annual workshops in Toluca and Valle de Bravo, Mexico, the 3rd Annual Animal EcoPhysiology Workshop was hosted at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. Participants included approximately 50 faculty and students from the University of North Texas, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Mexico, and University of Texas – Arlington.

Workshop activities included:

  • Over thirty-five EcoPhysiology related topics were presented as oral papers and poster presentations
  • New this year, this workshop also hosted 5 technique presentations exposing the participants to various data collection and analysis techniques relevant to the field.
  • A few field trips for participants including Dinosaur Valley State Park, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, and Fort Worth Stockyards
  • Further strengthing of research collaborations

Second Annual Workshop  —  February 4-8, 2010  -  Valle de Bravo, Mexico

The Second Annual Workshop entitled “Animal EcoPhysiology” was primarily funded by an NSF EAGER grant.  This workshop nearly doubled in size and was attended by over 50 US and Mexican participants from seven different universities.

Workshop activities included:

  • One day of 19 oral and 24 poster presentations
  • A trip to the monarch overwintering site
  • An evening in Toluca
  • Formation of new collaborations

First Annual Workshop  —  June 2008  -  Toluca, Mexico

The First Annual Workshop was funded by an AMC-FUMEC grant and consisted of approximately 20 US and Mexican participants.

Workshop activities included:

  • One day of ~20 oral presentations
  • A visit to Nevado de Toluca Volcano
  • A field trip collecting reptiles, amphibians and other wildlife.
